Shorter Product Addresses?

avatar

I’m curious how some shopping carts have addresses that are so short, thereby making the search engines more likely to crawl them. For instance, Click into the Nautica Watches site, and watch the address bar as you click into product, it’s nice and short. I can’t do this. I’ve read in Practical Ecommerce the issue that search engines cannot easily access these shopping cart pages due to the length of the address. ie. Click here into my site, and check out the address bar.

Spending all of the time to go into each product and add header and metatag info is so frustrating when you hear that the page won’t be crawled. To the best of my knowledge there is no fix for this, correct? I am wondering if I upgrade to Miva 5 that the issue somehow could be resolved.
