eBay Community World

Many people think ebay is only a marketplace. Little do they know that eBay is more than just a hot spot on the internet to buy and sell items! There is an active community behind those eBay selling walls just waiting for you to explore! A community of sellers and buyers! A place for everyone to pull up a chair, relax, and exchange thoughts, ideas, selling/buying tips and much more!

If you are wondering how to find this community, simply visit any eBay page and you will see a tab on the upper right side that reads: Community! Click on the word and start to explore!

eBay has included values for us all to live by while you are in the eBay community. And they are:

When you first enter into the community you will notice the order of places for you to view. First on the list is “Feedback Forum” this is where you would review your personal feedback. I will go into more details about the “Feedback” topic another time, for now, let’s continue to explore the eBay Community.

Second on the list: “Discussion Boards.” There are hundreds of places in different categories full of discussions on all kinds of topics.

Third is: “Groups” I spend a lot of time in this area myself. I do admit it, I’m an eBay Groupie! This area of eBay allows you to form your own group and join many other groups. There are group rules designed by group leaders and moderators. Groups can be compared to a basic “Forum” style setting, only better! eBay has recently enhanced the group area! You can use the search tool and locate a group of your own interest. I moderate the “Selling Tips” group. If you’re an ebay seller, you will want to join this very successful group!

Fourth is: “The Answer Center”: Member-to-member question and answer boards provide a forum for eBay members to ask questions, give or get answers, and share information about eBay.

Fifth: “Blogs!” If you are an ebay’er and you have not started a blog yet, you are missing out! eBay blogs have many advantages for both the buyer and the seller! I will write more in details about this subject another time, but for now you can explore this very interesting community! Last item on this list is “Chat Rooms!” Keep in mind this is not set up like most chat rooms you may be used to. This sort of chat is a discussion board that you refresh the page every few seconds to view the next post. It’s very effective and another busy place in this eBay community!

When you do visit the community area of eBay you will see many other interesting places to explore as well. My goal today was to open up the door to the “eBay Community World” and encourage you to explore, embark and travel beyond the “Safe” zone of the eBay Marketplace!
