Adding Graphics and Animation to eBay Listings

avatar

Including graphics into eBay descriptions can help or hurt the items you’re selling. It all depends on presentation and style!

I’ve seen a few listings with so much activity going on that I can’t read or understand what the person is selling.

Adding background can enhance your listings by making it more appealing to the eye. Try not to get carried away with “too much” activity on one page.

I suggest using a solid or a themed background. A nice theme to match your item can enhance your listing.

Example:

There are many eBay sellers very creatively selling templates for very reasonable prices. This can be a small investment for the promotion of your eBay items.

I do have a free eBay Template donated by an eBay seller displayed on my FREEBIES page at PowerSellingMom! Your welcome to stop by and help yourself to that template!

To add animation and/or graphics to your listings, a simple understanding of html can help you with this process. eBay has made it easy for sellers to “spice” up their listings with the description box options.

When listing an item and typing in your description, you can easily switch the box from “Standard” to “html” settings located at the top of the description box where you would type.

Once you switch it over to html you can now add your “codes” for your listing. Once your codes are added, you can switch it back to “standard” and now you can view your description as your customers would see it.

Practice does make perfect! I like to use a practice board with my listings before I insert them. One of the boards I use is: PracticeWriter.com.

At that site you can add your html and view it before you insert it into your description box at eBay.

This is also a great way to practice html codes for other areas af the net, Including: MySpace, Blogs, websites and more. Practice Writer will allow you to “Practice” and understand html at your own pace.

I do have an eBook available in my store that I wrote called:

“Codes Ready To Copy and Paste”

I set this eBook up in an easy to understand, step-by-step format for busy sellers that want to COPY and PASTE on the go! My system is easy to understand in “Mom” terms giving you the basics to set yourself up for a Simplified system. Reasonable selling price $1.99 with instant download!

If you’re looking for some fun graphics and animation, there is a great eBay group that’s open to the public called: Animation/Gifs and Graphics

This is a group to snag and share some animation/Gifs & Graphics for use in your auctions or in groups. Occasionally there will be some free tag offers as well as games or activities that you can win a new tag.

It’s another fun place within the eBay community! A group of eBayer’s sharing graphics and animation!

Once you have the hang of spicing up your pages, the possibilities are endless.

Be the “Talk of The Town” and let your creativity shine!
