SSL Mystified

Hello again. Another week of fun and games has quickly passed. I've managed to accopmplish an astounding total of about 20 minutes worth of work. My project for this week was to take the BIG step toward integrating PDG Commerce with our QBPOS.

First, the ever mysterious SSL. I'm not sure how it works and I don't think it's a necessary requirement for me to understand every particular at this point in time; I only care that it works.

So, I purchased the required SSL from my host. I answered all of the emails, approved the approvals and clicked on all necessary clickable items.... or at least I think I did. I'm dazed and confused right now about the whole thing. My domain management control panel indicates that I have an SSL for my domain.....but I don't see it anywhere. I have a sneaky suspicion that I've missed a very basic and important step. I'm sure many of you are doing the eye roll and saying "duh" outloud but... I give. I've searched all of the help files at my host's site for SSL and it talks about installing it but the instructions they provide don't apply to anything I have. I read ALL of them. I think I'm on to something and then it starts talking about options and menus that I don't seem to have....?????

So, what does a very tired newbie to the web world do at this point? I cried UNCLE!! I emailed support so they can tell me about the step I must have missed or point me to the instructions I can't seem to find on my own.

I'm hopeful that I can get a good thirty minutes work done sometime in this coming week. It's tough working it in with holiday cookie baking, present shaking and eggnog drinking, but one must be strong and motor on. I hope to be able to push the "integration" button sometime soon... not soon enough. For now, I'm going with what my good friend Le used to tell me... "This too shall pass".

Till next time, Sandy
