Keywords and Commas
Hello all. Like every other week, this week I learned something new. I've been stumbling around trying to get everything out on my site and keep up with life in general these days. As a result, I keep telling myself that one day I'll sit down and learn a little about SEO and keywords and search engine rankings.... you get the idea. I don't feel comfortable marketing my site without more offerings out there so why spend energy I don't have on something I'm not ready for?
Last week I took a little step towards site submission and SEO. I signed up with my hosting service, and. I got my report back in a few days. It says my site looks good, keywords look good. BUT... here it comes..... you should be using commas between your keywords. Boy, just when I think I'm making a little progress, I get reminded of just how green I am and how much I have to learn here.
What do you need those silly commas for anyway? Well, here is where the light bulb finally came on. I love to search the web. How many times have I searched for "knit weave spin yarn springfield branson mo"????? Oops. Now I get it. I need to have my keywords kind of match what someone searching for my site might be typing in. Maybe I should open my Practical eCommerce magazine once in a while and do a little reading, eh?
I still have a lot of learning to do here. I'll keep plugging away. Next week I'm on vacation..... from one of my jobs. I'll be working on the site. Maybe if I tweek a few things, someone might find us. Then we'll get lots of orders, make tons of money and I can retire to the beach! I can't wait...:-)
Till next time,
Sandy
