Web Traffic

Hello all. In general, its been another eventful week. They go by fast these days. A week seems like one big long day. Scott was out of town on business so I spent my evenings basking in the glow of my monitor and tweeking the ol' web site. I'm still learning new things every day and my HTML textbook has become my favorite reader. Does the word nerdy come to mind?

I've been working on adding images to represent each of my categories. This has been fun. For the most part, I've used little bits of digital pics I have stored away on my computer since we opened. By the way, we just celebrated our third anniversary!

What else? I also removed a few words, changed from bold to not-so-bold on a few things, changed out a few images and general housekeeping. I've been playing with adding images to the item pages. For instance, lots of books and magazine vendors have a nice layout of pictures to show what's inside. I've added some of those.

Next I'm going to play with the up-sales options in PDG Commerce. This is one of many included features but I've let them sit until I feel confident and ready. That will probably happen this weekend after I mow the yard, of course. I'm sure it will be easy but I've been so worried about getting product out there, I haven't felt like I could spare the time to piddle with things. I still have a lot of product to get out there but I'm attempting to improve the look and feel as I move along now. So, product I add ongoing will have more and more info and options.

Oh... I did mention web traffic didn't I It has been up! I'm not sure how to interpret the numbers but in relative terms, it is moving up all the time. We may not be flooded with orders just yet but our brick and mortar customers are using it now. I've been trying to give mention to new product as they hit the door. And yes, I'm trying to get new product added for online sales as it hits the door but I'm running behind on that... a little. Too much tweeking???

All in all, it's getting there and I still have lots of ideas floating around in my noggin for things that need improvement. Some I just need time to do and some need a little research... remember, I'm a newbie.

Till next time,

Sandy
