Hello all. Our company left. We had a lot of fun but things are quiet now until the next round. I've finally got a few minutes to let you in on the goings on.

Every day I faithfully check for any orders that might have drifted in to our web site. Every day it's the same answer, nothing. I still keep checking. I also keep wondering what on earth I am doing wrong. What am I going to do about it? We have wonderful merchandise, great customer service and I know our web site has great potential... argh.

So, I'm thinking my web marketing skills are scraping the bottom of the web marketing barrel. I need help but when I start looking around, it's dizzying. I don't have a vault of money to throw at pay per click and I've heard about false clicking. Scary. How would I know the difference? With my regular J-O-B, I don't have all day to sit and blog and do the social marketing that I know in my heart is essential. The writing is on the wall. I need help.

I had talked to a very talented individual at the holidays about helping out but hadn't heard back. She has a regular J-O-B too. Darn those things! I was just about to give up when she called last week. It was just like one of those sappy movies where the music picked up tempo and the birds started to sing... well, not quite that bad but I think you get the picture. I was thrilled to hear that she would help.

Since we talked, she has been scoping out ideas to get things rolling. I received three emails yesterday full of great ideas. It's like having fresh eyes! She is very into the social marketing world. I only hope I can keep up with her.

On that note, has anyone used a "content management system"??? This new to me. I haven't looked into it just yet so I have no idea what it is or how it works or what it means to my site. I'll be checking into it this week.

I've also discovered podcasts. I don't own an IPOD. I have never downloaded a song. I think I might be working too much. So, one cool December evening as we're settling into a yarn ordering session... in our dining room, one of my yarn reps introduced me to podcasts. She spends hours in the car listening to these things. These things are too cool! I've been downloading podcasts from practicalecommerce.com and listening to them while I sit in my cubie at the regular J-O-B. I love it! I've been telling all my friends.

Gotta go for now. Stay tuned for exciting updates on our site! I'll be listening to suggestions from our techie. I still have the old list but it's getting all topsy turvy. We'll see what happens now that I have a weekend with no company, no holiday parties and no travel. ZZzzzz...:-)

Till next time,

Sandy
